F.A.Q. & Pricing

frequently asked questions

Q: What can you engrave?

A: Almost anything you can cut with a knife, not limited to wood, leather, glass, acrylic, and painted metal.

Q: Can you engrave metal?

A: No, we can mark metal though. If you want, we can always paint your metal surface and burn through the dried paint to reveal a normally shiny engraving.

Q: What is the max depth of wood engraving?

A: Depends on the wood. Soft woods (i.e. pine, fur) we can go pretty deep, about 1/4 inch; hard woods (i.e. mahogany, walnut) are typically surface burn, they can go about 1/8 inch but it is more about the deep contrast hard woods can bring out.

Q: What are your costs?

  A: See below:

Q: How do I pay you?

A: We accept cash, check, PayPal, and Zelle.

Q: Can you give me price when I ask for the job?

A: I can give you a price range on what it could cost and we can give you a solid price once the editing is complete.

Q: Can you make me a plaque?

A: We are decent at wood working but we normally charge more than local shops due to it not being our prime business plan at this moment. If you need us to procure the plaque for you, we usually can but it adds to the cost of the piece.

Q: Can I bring you a piece to engrave?

A: 100% yes. That is what we prefer. One thing we ask is please no MDF or particle board, it more or less burns and melts in a bad way.

Q: What is the largest size you can do?

A: We try not to go over 36 inches by 24 inches, but we can go up to 55 inches by 35 inches (that size would be far more expensive than a normal job though).

Q: Can I have an example price?

A: Sure, customer asked for 2ea oars to be engraved, see below:
